With effect from 19th July, the Government in England gave the go-ahead for events to take place subject to organisers producing appropriate risk assessments and putting some protections in place for both those attending and working on event sites.
Updating guidance launched today (13th October 2020) includes contributions from across the festival industry working in collaboration with DCMS and Public Health England.
The Events Industry Forum, which brings together 26 trade and representative organisations from across the outdoor events industry, is keen to kick start public events as soon as it is considered safe to do so. We believe this will need to be on a phased basis as some events will be more flexible to social distancing than others.
A report produced by Bournemouth University for the Events Industry Forum has found that outdoor events contributed £39.5 billion of spend to the UK economy in 2018.
