The Events IndustryForum and EIF Ltd, which publishes the Purple Guide, are inviting proposals for an independent organisation or individual to undertake a comprehensive governance review of both organisations to ensure they are appropriately structured for the future.

Those undertaking this work must be reputable and be able to demonstrate experience in undertaking similar projects.

A report produced by Bournemouth University for the Events Industry Forum has found that outdoor events contributed £39.5 billion of spend to the UK economy in 2018.   The Forum is currently (2025) in discussion with others with a view to updating this research.
