A report produced by Bournemouth University for the Events Industry Forum has found that outdoor events contributed £39.5 billion of spend to the UK economy in 2018.   The Forum is currently (2025) in discussion with others with a view to updating this research.

The Forum has been instrumental in setting up an all-party group made up of Members of Parliament and the House of Lords.
